This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

FANTASTIC! Recently got back from Japan last month and this far exceeded my expectations. I got the 10 Hour Tonkotsuβdivine. I added an additional egg and it was perfect for me. I also had the chicken gyoza to start and donuts for dessert, both were good. Seth was an outstanding server, provided details about the menu and didnβt lead me astray with his recommendations. I will definitely be back!

The food was ok. Ordered the vegetarian tantan san ramen. The soup was way too salty (had to get a cup of hot water from wait staff to make it editable). Also ordered the kimchi and friend chicken ramen. The fried chicken was over fried and very dry and the soup was average. The service was good when you can get someone's attention. Granted we went at peak dinner time and the place was busy, it should not take 10 minutes before they come by to offer you water and take your order. The atmosphere was humming with 2000's hip-hop and rap music playing, which is an odd choice when most of the patrons were mid to late 30's and up with their children in tow. They also had 2 projectors with game 7 of the Spurs and Thunders' game on the wall. The final note of the visit is that the menu tells you they only take cashless payments, which is fine, then when the check came with a QR code scan to pay, they tell you you can pay cash or scan the QR code to pay. I then scan the code to pay and decided to leave the tips in cash and the final amount was $.99 more then the check. I had to wave down the staff to show them and they told me that their QR code payment system adds $.99 to take the payment

Iβve never seen a ramen spot with so many reviews. The downtown location has 17K plus! With the beautiful Chicago winters, I can see why everyoneβs go to is ramen. Ordered the 10 hour tonkatsu. The bowl itself is well dressed and portioned very well. I can tell the broth is not too thick either like how traditional tonkatsu is. First sip, the broth is lighter than tradition tonkatsu but the flavor is bold and deep. That is definitely a great change and requires a lot of skill. I can appreciate the lighter broth so is not too heavy. The pork is not chasu. Itβs braised pork belly. Other ramen spots would charge extra for braised pork belly. The pork belly is so tender and flavorful. Well made. Ramen may present as a simple dish, but requires technical skill to execute these small details. Sun noodles were present in my bowl, and their signature bounce do not disappoint. Highly recommend Ramen-San. This location also features a great poster in the back of Mr Air himself, dunking a bow of ramen.

Service is great - everyone I interacted with was delightful! The food is very flavorful and the menu shows if a dish is spicy, but there are zero labels re: veg, vegan, gf, etc. The server was very helpful in deciphering the menu. Sadly the only veg ramen is very spicy (I'm a wimp about spice but this feels accurate for the masses, too! For a wimp like me it was unbearable and I could only have a few slurps) Would return for the Japanese ol' fashioned and kale and cashew salad.
